This image came to my mind right in the middle of working on my master’s thesis project, while I was listening to a song called “Wonderland” by my favorite singer.
At first, I intended to design a fantasy character of the Red Queen from this book, inspired by Tim Burton’s cinematic adaptation. But as I kept listening to the music, the phrase “rabbit hole” caught my attention and sparked my imagination.
So, I decided to start designing my own character, a fusion of the Red Queen and the White Rabbit.
The result was incredible! I had often drawn a shrunken Alice beside or hanging from a cup in her hand years before, sometimes giving it to different characters from this fantasy story. But here, it finally fit perfectly in the hands of this latest character. To evoke the rabbit hole, I portrayed the space behind the character with a circular framing, capturing the strange and magical atmosphere of this character’s world.
