Birdy

A few months ago, during one of my nightly sketch sessions, I drew a girl sitting and playing with her hair. Recently, as I was browsing through my old drafts, I came across that sketch again and decided to reinterpret it in a fantasy concept using traditional media. The result turned out to be truly magical and captivating!

What fascinated me most was the shape and gesture of the hands—I was particularly drawn to their form and wanted to explore them further. In the traditional version, painted with watercolor and colored pencils, I decided to transform the character into an amphibious creature, as if she were sitting on a rock in a lake on a hot summer day, playing with birds.

However, when I recreated the piece digitally, what stood out more to me was the vibrant colors, the glowing sunlight, and the playful posture of the three birds tangled in the girl’s wet hair—turning that hot summer noon into a refreshing, fantastical moment.

This is one of my pieces that I genuinely love, and I’m very eager to hear your thoughts on it!
